The Suzuki Method of (music) talent education approaches learning music in the same way an infant develops language. People of all ability levels learn to communicate through language that is acquired through listening and then uttering in a cycle of repetition and aquisition. The more encouragement and love the child recieves, the greater his/her confidence and enthusiasm toward language becomes. In the same way, through the Suzuki method, students are taught violin (or another instrument) first by listening and second by repeating what they have heard in a supportive environment. Parents are an intregal part of the Suzuki method as they attend lessons and learn ways to help their children develop technique and an appreciation for the art of music. Communication is the key to success in the Suzuki method. Parents, teacher, and student form a triangle of support for the challenges students are facing, the emotions they are experiencing, and the goals they have. I am a qualified Suzuki teacher dedicated to helping you make music one of the greatest gifts you ever give your child.
